Product Description:
First instalment in the excellent Groove Master series of funk/breaks comps, and it’s top quality all the way here, with gem after gem of rareness!!! Producers who have sampled these tracks include the likes of Pete Rock, Large Professor, Beatnuts, DJ Shadow and more, but the music here is first class in it’s own right and makes for a good listen from start to finish. Highlights include the spaced jazz of Lonnie Liston Smith and Cal Tjader, plus the ‘Danube Incident’, which became the basis for Portishead’s ‘Sour Times’. Great material, and this compilation has become hard-to-find in it’s own right now, so don’t sleep!!!
